DTI Business Name Renewal

Renew your DTI Business Name Registration online at bnrs.dti.gov.ph. BN registration is valid for five years. BNRS FAQ describes early filing up to 180 days before expiry, regular filing within 90 days after expiry, and a late/grace window with a 50% surcharge of the registration fee. Pay the territorial-scope fee plus ₱30 DST. Unrenewed names become available to others after the grace period.

Renew a DTI business-name registration through BNRS within the published filing window—distinct from a new BN registration and from LGU/BIR permits.

What You’ll Need

Use this as a preparation checklist. Items marked “If it applies” are situational.

  • Existing DTI Business Name Registration due for renewal

    Official source

You are renewing a previously issued BN registration, not creating a brand-new name reservation.

  • File within the published renewal window

    Official source

BNRS FAQ: early filing up to 180 calendar days before expiration; regular filing within 90 calendar days after expiration; late/grace filing in the following 90 days with surcharge. Registrations not renewed within the grace period are cancelled and may become available to others.

  • BNRS account / transaction access for the registered owner

    Official source

Complete renewal online through BNRS. Follow on-screen identity and ownership checks. Non-Philippine nationals follow additional documentary rules when the charter/FAQ requires them.

  • Payment for territorial scope fee + ₱30 DST (+ surcharge if late)

    Official source

Published scope fees: Barangay ₱200; City/Municipality ₱500; Regional ₱1,000; National ₱2,000, plus ₱30 DST. Late filing in the grace window adds 50% of the registration fee per BNRS FAQ.

How To Do It

  1. 1

Check your BN expiry and filing window

    Official source

Note whether you are in early, regular, or late/grace filing so you understand any surcharge before you pay.

  2. 2

    Renew through BNRS

    Official source

Open the BNRS renewal flow, confirm business-name particulars, and submit the online application.

  3. 3

Pay fees and download the renewed certificate

    Official source

Pay the assessed territorial fee, DST, and surcharge if any, then download or claim the renewed Certificate of BN Registration as BNRS instructs.

Fees

Territorial-scope registration fees plus ₱30 DST are published in the DTI Citizen’s Charter.

Important Notes

  • Renewal still does not authorize operations alone

    Official source

A renewed DTI BN is still not a Mayor’s/Business Permit or BIR authority to issue receipts. Keep LGU and BIR registrations current separately.

  • Missing the grace period cancels the BN

    Official source

BNRS FAQ states registrations not renewed within the grace period are cancelled and may be registered by others subject to registrability rules.

Where / How To Apply

Primary: BNRS renewal at bnrs.dti.gov.ph. Walk-in exceptions for certain SC/PWD cases follow DTI Citizen’s Charter notes—confirm at the DTI office / Negosyo Center.

    Department of Trade and Industry

This procedure is completed in an official portal. A downloadable PDF is not the primary filing path.

Online end-to-end renewal is the primary path. Physical form exceptions for certain SC/PWD walk-in cases are described in the Citizen’s Charter—confirm at DTI if that applies to you.
